Clinical Programs

Hoffman Homes for Youth serves children who suffer from a mental health diagnosis. These include diagnoses such as Major Depression, Bi-polar, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Children admitted to our program have been identified as being at risk to themselves or others and a large majority have experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, and/or neglect, as well as other types of trauma.

Hoffman Homes for Youth focuses on a trauma informed treatment approach. The trauma informed approach addresses the ways in which trauma, adversity, and chronic stress influence individual behavior as well as the ways in which entire organizations can be influenced by trauma, adversity, and chronic stress. We have the philosophy of looking at the children in care and asking “what happened to you” to provide a therapeutic environment. The Clinical Program has 13 master’s level therapists who are trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT). The therapists provide the following services:
