Melissa has dedicated her professional career to working in the mental health field since 1996 and is currently the CEO of Hoffman Homes for Youth. Her experience includes direct care, mental health and drug/alcohol assessments, psychotherapy work with children, families and groups, and other supervisory positions in the field. Melissa earned her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Millersville University and her Masters in Social Work from Temple University.

Brandee Carrigan, BSChief Financial Officer & Treasurer
Brandee is our Chief Financial Officer with over 20 years experience in the accounting and finance field. She joined Hoffman Homes for Youth in 2015 and oversees financial reporting, medical billing, central supply, and payroll. Brandee graduated from the University of Maryland (Frostburg Campus) with a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Business. Since her arrival she has aimed to increase current revenue streams, create new revenue and remain conservative with expenses in order to increase net income each year.

Brecia Nevada, MSW, LSWVice President of Admissions
Brecia is the Vice President of Admissions at Hoffman Homes for Youth, a position she has held since 2006. She began employment with Hoffman Homes for Youth as a Mental Health Worker in 2001 and has also held other clinical and leadership positions to include Case Manager, Psychotherapist, and Assistant Director of Residential Services. She received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh and her Masters Degree in Social Work from Temple University. She has been a licensed Social Worker in PA since 2007. In addition to the work she does at Hoffman Homes for Youth to support children and families, she is also a supporter of children’s and theater arts programs in the local community.

Rebecca Van der Groef, LSWVice President of Clinical & Residential Programs
Rebecca, Vice President of Clinical and Residential Programs, is a licensed Social Worker who has been employed with Hoffman Homes for Youth for over 20 years. Rebecca received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work from Shippensburg University and her Masters Degree of Social Work from Temple University. Rebecca has assumed a number of positions at Hoffman Homes for Youth to include Mental Health Worker, Psychotherapist, Director of Residential Services and currently Vice President of Clinical and Residential Programs.

Alicia Stanley, BSVice President of Marketing & Development
Alicia is the Vice President of Marketing & Development. She has been with Hoffman Homes for Youth for four years, and has over 10 years of experience in sales, marketing and fundraising. Alicia graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.

Stacy Taylor
Stacy TaylorVice President of Educational Services
Stacy began working in the mental/behavioral health field in 2000. After a few years working as a Residential Counselor, she pursued her teaching certification. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education, focusing on Emotional/Behavioral Support, she secured a public-school teaching position developing the school’s first emotional support program. She continued to earn her Masters of Education and Principal Certification. She has worked as a special education teacher, 7th grade English Language Arts teacher, Regional Inclusion Consultant, Dean, and Assistant Principal. She recently lived in Alaska for four years and has returned with a wealth of new experience to share. She is working on the doctoral program at Concordia University titled Professional Leadership, Inquiry, and Transformation which she is using to lead the Academy through growth and development into a model program.

Jason, Vice President of Human Resources, has worked in the mental health field since 2001 and has been in human resources since 2011. His experience includes positions within the clinical services and business departments. Jason earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from York College of Pennsylvania, Masters in Social Work from Temple University and a Master’s in Human Resources and Employee Relations from Penn State University.

Ellen Gunn, RN, BS
Ellen Gunn, RN, BSVice President of Medical Services
Ellen, a Registered Nurse, is the Vice President of Medical Services at Hoffman Homes for Youth. Prior to working at Hoffman Homes for Youth, Ellen worked as a Director of Nursing for a psychiatric hospital serving adolescents and adults. She completed her nursing education in New York after graduating with a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology. Ellen brings over 20 years experience serving children with mental health diagnoses.

After graduating from Virginia Tech, Lori began her career at Hoffman Homes for Youth over 35 years ago. She has served in the capacity of a Youth Care Worker, Case Manager, Training Coordinator, Director of Human Resources, and is currently the Vice President of Quality and Risk Management.

William Posner, MS
William Posner, MSVice President of Safety & Facilities Management
William began employment at Hoffman Homes for Youth as a teacher in 2015. In the summer of 2017, he accepted the Safety and Facilities position. He works with the Culinary, Custodial, and Maintenance Departments. William graduated from Lycoming College and earned a Masters Degree from Mount Saint Mary’s University.

Todd Orner, BA
Todd Orner, BAVice President of Technology and Systems
Todd is responsible for the daily operation of all data and communication systems across campus. Before joining Hoffman Homes for Youth in 2008, Todd had over 20 years experience supporting technology in schools and nonprofits.
Outside of Hoffman Homes for Youth, Todd is a charter member of the Gettysburg Area Education Foundation and currently serves as the organization’s president.
