Medical Services

Medical Services manages the health and wellness needs of the young adults in our care. We provide services 24 hours a day to assist young adults with their specific needs that may change over the course of treatment.

The services provided by Medical Services include:

  • Professional staff of RNs, LPNs, Somatic Physician, Psychiatrists and other contracted medical professionals.

  • Administration of medications and pharmacy supplies provided via a contractual relationship.

  • Ongoing physical, psychiatric, and dental care.

  • Psychiatric oversight provided by experienced and knowledgeable doctors who attend the monthly individual treatment plan meetings.

  • Assessments, diagnosis, planning, treatment, and evaluations.

  • Each youth receives a complete nursing assessment within 24 hours of admission to include vision screening, hearing screening, EKG, nutritional assessment, abnormal involuntary movement scale (AIMS), Alcohol use disorders identification test, and drug abuse screening test.

  • Each youth receives a physical examination within the first 14 days of admission conducted by a Somatic family physician. This physician comes to our campus three days a week.

  • Laboratory work-ups are completed within 15 days and dental examinations are completed within 30 days of admission.

  • Registered dietician assesses any special dietary needs.

  • Education on psychotropic medications is provided to the young adults and their families.
